Do you really “crush” Spelling Bee daily? If so, that’s impressive! I generally reach “Genius” on my own but rarely achieve “Queen Bee” status without assistance from the first-two-letter combinations and the number of letters per word the NYT so helpfully provides. And then there are the obscure words familiar only to molecular biologists, astrophysicists, and “Steve G” that we’re expected to know . . . .
Sounds like we're at about the same level. I don't look at the "SB Buddy" until after I've reached Genius and beyond. Then I try for QB without the word clues. I'm often successful at that, but I sometimes need the clues for the microbiology and the foreign language slang terms.
Just Trim the Fluff! let's give AI a Brazilian! btw i won the school-wide Bee as a 5th Grader but couldn't defend my title as a 6th Grader. Of course i'll never forget that damn word.
Update: You have to start from the Substack Home page. When you open a post from there and click the three dots at the top right, you're given a choice to Scan for AI. If you open the post from an email or a notification as a subscriber, you don't see that choice.
I'm not sure, but when I posted, I had the option of checking to see how my own post would rate on the authenticity meter. Not so useful considering I already knew the answer.
